Orion wasp engine

Hi

First post on here . I have been out of 8th for a few years now,but going to have a go this year, I have been offered  an orion wasp .21 team engine,Its old stock but brand new in it's box. I have been offered it very cheep but know nothing about it apart from I think it is sirio baised. I know it's not going to be as good as the latest RB's etc but has anyone run one of these in the past?
Also been offered a bnip Eurekapro pipe Efra-2027 these still BRCA legal?

Any help would be great

Hello Dave glad to see your venturing out again. This orion being old stock is probably picco based, power band is good although economy will be poor & only good for 7 1/2 minutes tops in std form, if you can get hold of the fixed 7mm venturi carb it will give an extra minute but nothing like RB, OS etc which are 10 minute engines now days. On the engines to check if picco or sirio, sirio will have a gold plug at the end of the carb.

Accorrding to the list 2027 pipe is illegal as its not on the current list that i could see. If you can get a pipe get the orion 2065 or 2066 as these are matched to the engine.

cheers Bren,these 10th cars are just to quiet .Think this will be the second engine....going to get a pipe engine combo thats a little more upto date for big meets.see ya track side every big meet i go to these days the ralls family have got it covered
