Unfortunately my Brand New X2-CR and starting equipment was stolen off my pit table while I was pitting for the Truggy "B" Final at DRT Summer series RND 1, would appreciate if everyone could keep an eye out for it as it had only been run for 30min in the qualifiers, if you could PM me with any info I would greatly appreciate it as you could probably see by the spec this was quite an expensive loss:
I've attached a picture of the shell, purple and pink with chrome stars
Car Description: Chassis - Hong Nor X2-CR with DE skid blocks front and rear Engine - RB WS7T (LG2 Head) with RB 3001 Pipe Radio - Futaba 2.4ghz fsst with LRP VTEC 2300 Lipo and Tornado Regulator (Still have transmitter) Servos - 2 x Ace DS1015 Personal Transponder - 7232150 Tyres - AKA Gridirons on Yellow Proline V2 Rims
Loads of titanium screws and Kingheadz options, ultra racing rear toe block silver Kyosho fuel filter and blue Kyosho fuel tubing.
Starting Equipment: Black Pit Buddy carrying tray (Front section held together with tape) Starter Box - Blue SMD with 2 x Vapex 7.2v 4600MAH Battery Fuel Bottle, couple of huddy drivers and glow plug spanner / wheel wrench
Thanks for everyone’s support, kind donations and those people who gave chase and managed to inflict some damage on the Blue R reg Peugeot 406 as it got away, hopefully this doesn't reflect badly on DRT as a venue or RC racers in general as I've always found everyone at DRT and in the sport to be really friendly and very helpful and I can only assume that this was just opportunist thieving scum who probably don't have a clue what they have nicked and may try to sell on for peanuts compared to what it’s worth.
I wasn't the only victim it may help if anybody else who lost stuff could list a description of what they lost.
I will be posting this on a few other forums but feel free to copy this to anywhere you think it might help.
Thanks
Jamie

sorry to hear that fella, scum like that need hanging up and having there Balls cut off with a very blunt object!!!
Just a thought, but have you contacted the police? being where DRT (Near the Tunnel) is there will be loads of camera's around out on the main road to keep an eye open for suspicous people, it may be worth a shot fella.
I have read about things like this happening at tracks, i think that once your into the venue, the gates should be locked and no cars in or out unless it is an emergency, im sure the scum wouldnt of got very far if they were on foot!!!
just a thought.
Hope you find your stuff mate and give that **** a good battering!!

Karl
A number of individuals were targeted on Sunday - police were called and to give them their due were on scene pretty quickly. Unfortunately nobody managed to get the registration number of the car involved, which makes it virtually impossible to trace (even assuming it's registered to the person who was driving it on Sunday and isn't itself stolen) - dark blue Peugeot 406 saloons are still pretty common.....
Since the crime involved theft of personal property the police are unlikely to put significant resource into identifying those responsible - I speak from personal experience on that - but I believe enquiries have been made with the landlord to check what CCTV coverage of the area there might be - a reg number would go a long way to pointing police in the right direction should further enquiries be worthwhile.
As you say, there's been numerous occasions when usually small items have gone 'astray' at race meetings. The difficulty when it comes to access is that there's a balance to be found from encouraging people to come and see what racing is all about in promoting the hobby vs 'securing' the site. In the case of Dartford (and this instance) those involved came onto the site from an adjacent field, crossing a deep ditch with water in it, before getting into a car waiting for them up the road. Those brazen enough to take the opportunity will find a way, even if we spent tens of thousands of pounds putting a fence with barbed wire around the site they would simply come equipped to gain access....
Every track site is different and, where some may lend themselves to better security than others, Dartford is actually pretty secure in having only 1 point of vehicular access - unfortunately that vehicle access is shared with other users of the site, so without security on duty at the gate for the duration of open days there's no realistic way to secure that access any better than we do now.
We (by which I mean all racers) have been fortunate not to have suffered events like this in the recent past, although I know of a car being broken into at another venue and the entire racing contents stolen very recently, but perhaps this is a reminder that racing venues are effectively open to the public and with more people out of work there are potentially more circumstances in which potentially high value goods will be taken by opportunistic individuals with zero morals.
It's extremely upsetting for all those directly affected by the events on Sunday who lost their stuff and also for the club because we pride ourselves on running a good race day - thank you to Jamie as well for his kind words and we hope you'll be back with us soon.
Regards
Adrian DRT Committee member

Adrian,
Dont get me wrong mate, i was not saying that you didnt call the police nor do everything you can on site on a race day, i think all tracks do a grand job in running these events, and it just takes a few individual scumbags to ruin it for everyone....
i feel for the guys that were affected from sunday and anything like this in the past. it makes us all want to lock our gear away in the car when pitting/marshalling which i think we should not have too.....
Jamie, i think you should list this on Maxbashing, seeing as there forum is so very popular thats probably a good place to list. i myself have posted your above comments on some other forums also.

Hi Karl I wasn't suggesting any criticism at all at what you posted mate - just for the benefit of all those that weren't there that will read this I wanted to put some context so readers know what has already been done and some specifics about events - I was out marshalling at the time so didn't see what went on except the car speeding down the lane away from the track Regards Adrian

Guys I think its fair enough to go on and on how bad this is but let us not forget we now have some fellow racers who cannot join us at the moment. Lets see what we can do to help these guys get back on the track and racing again asap.
I will be speaking to my contacts tomorrow to see what we can do

A couple of suggestions for what it's worth...
1) Keep an eye on eBay for anything suspicious croping up. I think eBay have a system for reporting potentially stolen goods and then they can be reported to police.
2) Are you covered in any way with BRCA membership or vehicle contents insurance?
Good luck and here's to catching the scumbags.
