Tamiya TRF801X Review by: Jim Thompson

Well Tamiya first 1/8 rallycross buggy.

Well first things first all plastics supplied on moulding stalks (not really
done in the 1/8 scene!) so all plastics must be cut off.

Plastics look different Tamiya has used a range of plastics throughout the build
and some don't look that great.

First you build the diffs diff look like Kyosho 777 or hotdodies will fit!

The gearboxes on this car uses 10 parts when there should be two parts so
front/rear diff change not quick!

This car is not light drive train is built to last not for
speed!

All parts go together well no fit issues.

The radio tray does not have the lower centre of G could be lower.

Radio box/tray bit old fashioned but you can move battery to front.

The shocks are good but don't have 4mm shafts but are fitted inboard and don't
look like they will break.

Shock towers are nice thick/strong

.

Fuel tank standard no clunk.

Engine is over 12deg should not be an issue as head gets air.

Body shell nicely moulded.

I have yet to run the car good old weather

The Uk MRP £699 you could buy 2 cars for the price of this.

Will thrash test thursday night at herts nitro
