New World Record For Hot Bodies Lightning

RADIO CONTROLLED CAR LONG JUMP WORLD RECORD SET

Near 60 feet jump sets the benchmark for the world's scale model petrolheads. Greg Hill set a world record benchmark for long-jumping a 1/8th scale radio controlled car at the NEC on Tuesday, July 12, 2005. Greg's Hot Bodies Lightning 2 Pro Buggy flew through the air for 55 feet 10 inches (17.2 metres).

"The time was right to set an RC jump record: radio controlled cars are one of the fastest growing hobbies in the country and everybody has done a massive jump, but nobody else has ever actually seen it," said Greg.

"It was a real eye opener - many people still see radio controlled cars as being battery powered £19.99 jobs from toy shops that struggle to get up a ramp, let alone jump from it. But the car we used hit the bottom of the ramp at around 45mph - a scale speed of around 360mph.

Mirage also set a record for a complete somersault by an RC car - 39 feet 2 inches.
