Having had several weeks off due to cancelled events &
flooding, the return of good dry weather all week meant Tony could get a roller
to the track & what a track he gave us. The jumps now formed well & a smooth
surface led to low grip but very enjoyable. Plenty there even though Herts was
also running with Hazelwood venturing out in the new vantage nice bit of kit
very shinny with pit man rusty. The vintage mr chung like myself many years &
veteran to the hobby. 08 dirt master Racey & many more fast guys would lead to a
great day. I came straight from work & just in time to put several laps in for
practice which was needed to shake out the cobwebs.
Rnd 1 Jon was off & gone. My run was good although being taken out cost me .
Rnd 2 had a good battle with jon to take second being just pipped.
Rnd 3 & 4 very much the same silly errors or back markers not playing ball was
the story of the day.
My car was good & economy was around 11 minutes so one stopping the final it
would be. Tommy had been fast all day to go 2nd overall, with Rob being
consitent to go 3rd & me 4th.
Matt Perry, Adrian Svenson, Damien tigwell & Simon Young all in with a shout
having not had the best of luck in qualifying.
Drop of the flag & jon , tommy ,rob & Bren got away clean with the rest of the
pack crashing in the usual wacky racers style. The 4 of us pulled a healthy
buffer with me taking the lead when the rest pitted at 7 mins. With the pit crew
forgetting me i got a pit nervous when the ten minute stoppers had come in &
gone. 10.45 i got the call & still half a lap to go, must of been running on
the old miracle vapours but in & out at 11.15 few.
Still in the lead with Jon bearing down but the usual lapping cars & hey im on
my roof with jon off & gone sucks. With Tommy in the game now & fighting for 2nd
was a good battle but some slow laps at the end cost me & allowed Tommy a small
buffer.
Happy with the day though & 3rd place , played with shocks & found a sweet
setup. For the team 4 Xrays in the main with 2 on the podium not to bad.
Several weeks off now with Frankley on the 28th being the next venture then Neo
buggy
