This event for me started on Saturday morning with a good friend arriving nice and early to collect some fuel for the weekends racing. Great to see him again! well he was not hanging around and after a quick chat and a high speed nitro coffie it was time to go get some track time or so we all thought Barkley on the other hand decided to see how well his buggy would work as a submarine. Well its kinda doesn't work so well as he found out by landing upside down in rather a large drainage hole oops there goes the receiver this was not a good start to the weekend at all. Then there was the lets see if i can make an expensive paper weight and bang indeed I can with the rod letting go in his engine. Not such a great start to the weekend but these things happen and there aint much we can do about it besides let all our friends tease us about them.
Well for me Sunday couldn't come quick enough the anticipation of driving a different track layout having freshly been altered. also the other great thing about racing is seeing all the guys trackside. There was going to be something special about today's racing and that was Team Xray Driver "Ian Haley" was paying a visit all the way from Australia to see what astro turf racing was all about. I think all the racers were a tad gutted that he had not been able to bring his trophy girls with.

Australian Super Star Ian Haley

What a top bloke! Ian is so friendly and was there to have some fun and experience the trails and tribulations of racing on astro turf. Having found 5 mins to have a chat with Ian and ask him what he thought of astro turf racing he said its fun and very intresting as he was all prepared with his turbo rats which is a popular grass tyre but on astro its no good what so ever and even worse in the wet. He was there for the experience and to have a laugh and im sure he got plenty of that MMM where did i put thoses pictures of Ian upside down on his roof.

Kevin Brunsden was on form with his Kyosho MP9 looking very fast indeed.
Onto the finals and having qualified 2nd in the D main!! oh my Im never going to live this down hey Ricky. Off to one hell of a start and after the first corner I was stone cold last. Oh dear its party time now i dont know if it was sheer driving brilliance or just dumb luck but the luck of the pirates came through and I was out in the lead going over the table top claiming the first lap whooooooo oops!!! Handing the lead back to Gooze where we stayed playing for what seemd like an eternity awsome fun then gremlins arrived and Gooze suffered a engin cut.
I just decided to be careless and show Brennan how tough an 809 can be. Producing some fine barrel rolls and cart wheels by the time I sorted my head out i was in 3rd place and hey ho with only 2 bumpups out of contention. Awsome day great fun and smiles all round.

I did get the jumps right most of the time hey Bren
Well with a massive thank you to Brennan Ralls for lending me a Buggy and Engine etc to allow me to have a race Awsome stuff dude and much appretiated. To the Crew at Action Park RC for a wicked days racing and dont forget they have there 2 day halloween event this weekend
