Pro Line

Race Report By: Chris Hampson. This was the fifth round of the 2006/7 Proline Badlands Challenge series at Sandy, kindly sponsored by CML and Proline, with Proline Badlands tyres being the control tyre for Rallycross entries.

With several other meetings being cancelled today and other big events on the same day as the National warm-up on 11th march at Sandy, there was a lot of team drivers who were using this meeting as practice before the National.

Weather has been very wet earlier in the week but continued track maintenance by the service team meant the track was reasonably dry for the 100+ drivers in attendance. The meeting also had two heats of truggies running with truggies now being a regular class at Sandy.

Xray Buggy

Race report by Robin Frischkopf

This February the first 1/8th off-road buggy indoor race was held in Flawil, which was attended by approximately 100 drivers from Switzerland and Germany. The track was very tight because it was inside a rather old, small horse riding arena. This was my first race with my new XRAY XB8TQ buggy; I was very excited because when I built and tested the buggy in the fall of 2006 it was amazing. The build was great, as expected from an XRAY kit, and when I drove the buggy on our practice track I was already faster than with my previous car. During the winter I couldn't wait for the season to begin.

Hong Nor

Telford Hottrax hosted the latest round of the UK midlands winter championships and there was an 80+ turn out including some well known national drivers. Jon Hazlewood (Xray) fresh from his pole start in Holland, Steve Haynes (Ho Bao), John Howells (GS) Adam Skelding (Hot Bodies) and Jamie Booth (Hong Nor).
During the 15 minute A main a ding dong battle developed between the Xray of Jon Hazlewood and the X1CR pro UK factory team car of Jamie Booth, the lead swapped several times but ultimately the X1CR FT was the better handling car and in the end took a convincing win from the other pro factory drivers.

1st Jamie Booth (X1CR Pro UK Factory team)
2nd John Howells (GS CL-1)
3rd Jon Hazlewood (Xray)
4th Steve Haynes (Hyper 8)
