Posted by admin on Monday, June 04, 2007 - 11:10 AM

As one of America's longest running races the Hank Perry 240 has been drawing competitors since 1986. The event reached its 21st year and has been held at the Spokane R/C Club's beautiful facilty in Spokane, Washington since conception. With over 300 entries the race drew competitors from all over the Pacific Northwest and some racers from Canada to battle it out for the championship.

The 1/8 Buggy class saw a wire to wire battle which eventually ended with Gary Guest piloting his Jammin X1-CR FTE to the win and finishing a close second was Jammin driver Ryan McCrery, with Kyosho factory driver Marcus Anzovino coming in third.

During the year, the UK has one 2 day national race as part of its championship and it is run over the May bank holiday weekend. This race is one of the highlights of the UK calendar which all drivers look forward to. Unfortunatly for this year event the weather was to play a major part in the outcome with rain coming down for a solid 48 hours.

Race Reports: Cragg/RC8 Dominates Again (785 Reads)
Posted by admin on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 - 12:35 PM

CML Distribution

Round 3 of the BRCA 1/8th off road championship was held at Holbeach over the bank holiday weekend.

This race is a one off in that it is run over two days and not one like all the other nationals, and is run to the EFRA christmas tree finals system.

The terrible weather that was forecast did indeed arrive and the qualifying sessions were cut from 5 to 3 and run in very wet conditions. To everyones surprise the track stood up to the weather extremely well and was in the main very driveable.

Round 1 saw Ho Bao returnee Dave Bailey take the round followed by Neil Cragg and Ho Bao new boy David Crompton, thes guys were followed by Graham Alsop and Paul Bradby completing a CML/RB engine lock out of the top 5.

Round 2 saw Neil stretch the legs of the Associated RC8 and take the round quite comfortably from Jon Hazelwood and David Crompton. In round 3 the track was shortened slighty to remove the dirt corner that had become dangerous for the marshalls. In this round Neil obliterated the opposition and raced to a time that nobody could get within a second a lap of, Paul Bradby took second in round but 7 seconds behind the rampant RC8 and the next driver was Adrian Svensson who was 10 seconds adrift. This left the top 5 with Neil Cragg, Jon Hazelwood, David Crompton, Dave Bailey and Paul Bradby.

The weather had not improved the following morning and with half the pitting area under water the decision was taken to cancel the finals and take the results from qualifying.

Race Reports: Harder/XB8EC Wins Danish Championship Rnd 3 (807 Reads)
Posted by swebb on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 - 08:39 AM

Xray Buggy

The weather forecast showed rain, rain and more rain, and true to the prediction the rain started after the morning practices. A lot of discussion went on and I thought it would be impossible to have a race. But around noontime the rain stopped and the sun came out. Because of the hard work from the club in digging drainage after the 2006 season, the track was dry after 1.5 hour.

The club is one of the biggest in Scandinavia – it is an RC Stadium with facilities for boats, off-road & on-road cars, and airplanes. The whole facility was built in 2004 and had a cost of more than 1 mio $. What a Club :) and it is located just outside Copenhagen!
