Xray Buggy

Race report by Leon McIntosh

Race: Rd. 3 of the RC Pro Series EAST division
Track: Phil Hurd Raceway Savannah, GA
Dates: September 28-30th 2007

Track:
The Savannah crew did an awesome job building a track that was extremely smooth and hard packed with some technical jump combinations. It was apparent very early on Friday during practice that there was going to be a ton of traction and who ever could set their car up better would have the best shot at winning.

Xray Buggy

Race report by Ronald Maya

On Friday 5th of October Dad and I arrived at the Canberra Off Road Model Car Clubs Track in the ACT. I was a bit surprised at the brilliant weather they supplied. The track layout hadn't changed much from the ACT Buggy Titles held earlier this year. It is a tight clay track with a few bumps and jumps to keep us busy.

After a little open practice, and a couple of heats of controlled practice, a few guys were showing some good pace. A couple of local boys Nick Chatz (Xray XT8/RB), Nique Morris (Mugen MBX5-T/Sirio)and Stuart Smith (Xray XT8/RB) were showing us the way around. Dave Burgess (GS XUT/Rossi) from Queensland and me (Xray XT8/Boss) from Victoria was in the mix.

Congratulations on Dave Burgess winning the title. Nick Chatz kept the Xray flag flying with a well deserved 2nd place after a messy start. 3rd was Brad Smith giving GS/ Rossi a 1 and 3 podium finish.

LRP

Korea – The Kyosho Masters 1/8 Offroad took place in Kyunggi-do and this event proved to be a huge success for LRP and the completely new LRP Z.28R Spec.3 Truggy engine.

The Kyosho Masters was the biggest race of the year in Korea. Most of the factory and team drivers attended the event despite the fact that the KOREAN National Championship was held just a few weeks before on the same track. It was LRP/Xray driver ‘Hong, Jung Ho’ who found himself as Top Qualifier after the qualification and together with his LRP Z.28R engine he looked absolutely unstoppable. Jung Ho Hong continued his dominating form from the qualification in the final and won it in an impressive style. His best laptime in the final was in fact 3 seconds faster than that of runner-up ‘Oh, Joong Suk’.

“Mr.Hong Jung Ho, how did the LRP Z.28R Engine perform?”

Hong Jung Ho: “The LRP Z.28R engine was very reliable and very fast, giving me a win this year. It was my first LRP engine and I was very satisfied with it. I’m looking forward to use the LRP engine the remaining season.”

CML Distribution

This years RRCi clubmans Rallycross championship drew to a close in grand style at Swindon Model Car Club’s Cheney Manor track in Wiltshire.

This large multi-surface facility (originally the home of Swindon Nitros) had something for everyone including a concrete main straight, a tricky astro-turf infield followed by a smooth dirt conclusion to the 40 sec lap.
