AKA beats the odds in Las Vegas

AKA beats the odds in Las Vegas at the Silver State Nitro Challenge. AKA TQ'd all 5 of the classes and won 3. Jared Tebo TQ'd both Buggy and Truggy Invitational classes. In Truggy Invitational Jared used Soft City Blocks (#14102S) and in the Invitational Buggy Class Jared used Soft City Blocks (#14002S) to take TQ and the win. In the electric 1/8 buggy class Cody King took TQ honors there using Soft City Blocks (#14002S). AKA was also the tire of choice in the extremly competitive Open Truggy and Buggy classes taking the TQ and win in both of those classes. In Open Truggy Steven Daniluk took the TQ spot  and taking the win in Open Truggy was Randy Nolen using AKA Soft City Blocks (#14102S). In the Open Buggy class Jacques Ballow took the TQ and win using AKA Soft I-Beams (#14001S). AKA inserts were also used in the tires under these extreme conditions. AKA was the first to bring these revolutionary inserts to the r/c car tire market and they are quickly becoming the industry standard. AKA would like to thank everyone who supported AKA at the event.

Race Reports: Nor Cal series Rnd 1 (1020 Reads)
Posted by admin on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 - 03:04 PM

Team Losi

Once again we have started off our Nor Cal series in Antioch at Delta R/C indoor track and it was a pretty good turn out. I have won the Pro Buggy class for the last 2 years and 3rd in Truggy last year after some technical difficulties. This year is starting off just right with TQ in both Buggy and Truggy and 1st place in both! My 8ight 2.0's were awesome in the small indoor track. I didn't even need to change anything on my setup from the big outdoor tracks. Standard setups for the Buggy and Truggy work great on any track that I have been to witch takes a lot of weight off my shoulders not having to worry about setups going to new track's and just focus on tire choice. Next weekend I'm heading back out to Delta R/C for the start of another Northern series. Hope to see you guys soon at the track!

XB808 Podium Finish at GP Montpellier

Now, we got ready for a long final…
The club decided this year to make it a 1-hour race! My start was good, but everybody was really fast on this track. I lost some time in the first 15 minutes with some mistakes and getting caught up with other cars. At that moment I knew the race would be hard because the leader was already 1 lap ahead of me. BUT… the race is long, my car was good, and I was sure that I had a place on the podium! But for the moment, I was in 7th place. After some long waiting, I manage to get into 4th place at the 40-minute mark. At this point Savoya lost his fuel due to a mistake and his engine stopped! So then I was in 3rd place and the last place of the podium! But race was not finished. Yannick (in the lead) had some battery problems in the last 5 minutes of the race and had to stop. So I ended up finishing in 2nd place behind Italian driver Rabitti, who had a really fast race today! I congratulated him on his well-earned victory.

Final results:

1. Ricardo Rabitti
2. Jerome Sartel XRAY XB808
3. Renaud Savoya

XB808 Wins Belgium Championship R1

In the A main (45 minutes), Sartel had the best start and took the lead after the first lap. He was alone in the lead until the end of the race, taking a 1-lap advantage over 2nd place after only 1O minutes! The car was really easy to drive on the new jump part of the track, allowing me to take a comfortable lead to finish with more than a 3-lap advantage.
At the end, Jérôme Sartel won with 77 laps, ahead of Belgium racer Robert Raphael (74 laps) and French driver Laurent Tartare (73 laps) in 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.

Final results:

1. Jerome Sartel XRAY XB808
2. Raphael Robert
3. Lurent Tartare
4. Maxence Bon
5. Jeremy Hanotiaux
6. Gerard Ghys XRAY XB808
7. Johnatan Bacro XRAY XB808
